POPIA Notice

1. Introduction
Goodness Property Solutions (GPS), a trading name of Goodness & Co Group, is a responsible party as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This notice informs you of your rights and our obligations regarding the collection and processing of your personal information.
2. What Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information including your full name, contact details (email, telephone, address), property details (address, type, ownership, estimated value), financial indicators (bond amounts, arrears, debt levels), and any correspondence or documentation you provide to us in the course of an enquiry.
3. Purpose of Collection
Your personal information is collected for the following purposes: to assess your property situation and identify appropriate solutions; to refer you to relevant registered professional service providers; to communicate with you regarding your enquiry and proposed solutions; and to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Lawful Basis
The primary lawful basis for processing your personal information is your consent, which you provide when you submit an enquiry or contact us. We may also process your information on the basis of legitimate interest in providing our property coordination services, or to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Who We Share With
We may share your personal information with registered professional service providers — including estate agents, conveyancing attorneys, bond originators, property valuers and financial advisers — only where necessary to assess or implement a solution for you, and only with your knowledge and consent. All third parties are required to handle your information in accordance with POPIA.
6. Cross-Border Transfers
Where it is necessary to transfer your personal information outside of South Africa, we will only do so to countries that provide an adequate level of data protection, or where you have given your explicit consent to the transfer. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.
7. Data Subject Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion of your information where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it; object to the processing of your information; withdraw your consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

9. How to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your personal information has been processed in violation of POPIA, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. The Information Regulator can be contacted via their website at www.inforeg.org.za.
10. Retention
We retain your personal information for a period of three (3) years from the date of your last interaction with us, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law. After this period, your information will be securely deleted or anonymised.
11. Security Measures
GPS implements appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. These measures are reviewed and updated regularly to maintain their effectiveness.
